2010 - 01/04 -- Don Bosco Prep Students Selected as Distinguished New Jersey Scholars


Ramsey, NJ – Don Bosco Prep Director President Fr. Louis J. Moline, SDB, ’79, and John Stanczak, Principal, are proud to announce that twelve senior year students have been selected as Edward J. Bloustein Distinguished Scholars by the State of New Jersey Higher Education Student Assistance Authority (HESAA).

They are:
Ryan Barlotta, Glen Rock; Nicholas Boylan, Franklin Lakes; John Clifford, Haworth; Josef Durand, Nutley; Dylan Henne, Mahwah; Jihun Lee, Cresskill; Sean Mack, Park Ridge; Matthew Miceli, River Vale; Christopher Minor, Mahwah; Nicholas Powers, Wyckoff; Wyatt Smith, Ridgewood; and Peter Weber, Hawthorne.

Edward J. Bloustein Distinguished Scholarships are awarded to New Jersey students demonstrating the highest levels of academic achievement based upon their secondary school records and SAT scores at the end of their junior year. The Bloustein Distinguished Scholars Program is available to students who have been permanent residents of New Jersey for the prior 12 months, and U.S. citizens or eligible non-citizens. The program provides $1,000 annual college scholarships to encourage New Jersey’s highest academically achieving high school students to attend New Jersey institutions of higher learning.

The Class of 2009 earned over $18.1 million in college scholarships and grants and 99% of the graduates attend the colleges and universities of their choice.

With additional offerings in extracurricular activities such as academic, Catholic and service organizations, honor societies, special interest activities, athletic clubs, publications and the arts, Don Bosco Prep provides a wide range of choices for young men interested in pursuing higher education.
