
2010 – 2/3 -- National Signing Day - 10 Student Athletes commit to Division 1 Colleges and Universities- 24 seniors to play college football next year
National Football Signing Day was a momentous occasion for Don Bosco Prep this year. Not only were the Ironmen named No. 1 team in the nation by USA TODAY, Head Football Coach Greg Toal was named Coach of the Year by USA Today and High School Sports.net, but also an amazing number of seniors (ten to be exact) committed to Division 1 colleges or universities.

James Kittredge (OL/DL) – Vanderbilt University
Adam Kurtz (C) - Davidson University
Bryan Murphy (DE) – University of Pittsburgh
Brandon Sacco (OL/DL) – University of Pittsburgh
Kurt Schmitz (OL) – University of Richmond
TC Sweeney (OL) – Towson University
Additionally, 14 more students have or will be committing to play college football next year from this class. As Coach Greg Toal put it, “I couldn’t be prouder of this group of kids – this is the culmination of a lot of hard work over four years – this is a great bunch of guys – they’re special – there is a reason that they are national champions.”
After having completed the season 12-0, against the most demanding schedule ever for a NJ team, the Don Bosco Prep Ironmen again made history having been ranked No. 1 by USA TODAY in its national poll of the top 25 high school football teams in the country. Also ranked No. 1 by MaxPreps and Rivals Top 100, the Ironmen rose to the top having won their contests against such nationally ranked teams as De La Salle (CA) and Prattville HS (AL).
Don Bosco Prep completed its season on December 5, winning the NJSIAA Non-Public Group 4 title 35-15 against St. Peter’s Prep. This was the fourth consecutive non-public state title won by the Ironmen.
