2009 - 10/02 -- Eleven Students Are Recognized as Semifinalists or as Commended Students in the 2010 National Merit Program. 
 
RAMSEY - October 2, 2009 -- Mr. John Stanczak, Don Bosco Prep Principal, has recently announced that eleven seniors have been recognized as Semifinalists or as Commended Students in the 2010 National Merit Program.
 
Seniors Matthew Miceli and John Clifford, in photo, have been named National Merit Semifinalists by the national Merit Program. Approximately 16,000 students nationwide, or approximately one-third of the 50,000 high scorers (of the 1.5 million students who entered the 2010 competition), qualify as semifinalists. Semifinalists are designated on a state representational basis, based upon academic ability. They are the highest scoring entrants in each state.
 
Additionally, Mr. Stanczak is pleased to announce that the following students have been recognized at Commended Students in the 2010 National Merit Program:  Josef Durand, Walter Johnson, Jihun Lee, John Lynch, Sean Mack, Joseph Moynihan, Cole Santangelo, Wyatt Smith and Rejoy Zachariah. Nationwide, about two-thirds or about 34,000 of the approximately 50,000 highest scorers on the PSAT/NMSQT are recipients of Letters of Commendation recognizing heir outstanding academic promise.
