2009 – 12/16 – DBP Football Ironmen Named First in Nation by USA Today, Max Preps and Rivals Top 100!

After having completed the season 12-0, against the most demanding schedule ever for a NJ team, the Don Bosco Prep Ironmen have made history having been ranked No. 1 by USA TODAY in its national poll of the top 25 high school football teams in the country. Also ranked No. 1 by MaxPreps and Rivals Top 100, the Ironmen rose to the top having won their contests against such nationally ranked teams as De La Salle (CA) and Prattville HS (AL).
Don Bosco Prep completed its season on December 5 winning the NJSIAA Non-Public Group 4 title 35-15 against St. Peter’s Prep. This was the fourth consecutive state title won by the Ironmen.
Head coach Greg Toal, athletic director and ass’t coach Nunzio Campanile, and all of the coaching staff demanded a lot of the athletes in preparation for this season, and it certainly paid off.
Congratulations to all of the team members, coaching staff, touchdown club, and all of the people who worked so hard and long to make this a season for the record books.
